Ep 24: Helping Our Kids Thrive as They Transition to Distance Learning

 April 2, 2020

In this episode, I welcome Kellyann Rohr to the podcast. Kellyann is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, School Counselor, and fashion blogger. She is currently working for Florida Virtual School. As we all navigate our “new normal” including moving our kids to distance learning, Kellyann offers helpful advice to parents of kids of all ages. During our conversation, you will hear about why it’s important for you, as a parent, to get your panic in check and to learn to trust the process. She also provides helpful tips for helping motivate students who don’t enjoy or thrive in an online learning environment. And you won’t want to miss Kellyann’s suggestions for trying to gain some control in a situation that we have no control over.

About Kellyann Rohr

Kellyann Rohr is a Believer, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and a certified School Counselor. She currently works as a school counselor for the largest virtual school in Florida. She has been married for twenty-five and a half years and has two sons who are college students at the University of Florida.

Kellyann’s sons are both home from college right now due to the pandemic. Kellyann was very sad when her oldest son left for college a few years ago but having them both home has been an adjustment. They are very independent so Kellyann doesn’t need to do much for them. They do what they need to do. It may not be up to Kellyann’s standard or on her time schedule but they get it done.
